Productive Week

So tomorrow is the last day of class for me until the weekend. So basically the weekend starts at 2pm tomorrow for me! Well this has been a productive week so far. I have finished the rough draft of my English research paper, took my engineering exam, and have been working hard on our car project as well. So after this week, I will have only 3 1/2 weeks of this semester left, and I am super excited!! I can not wait until summer break!! Well, with that said, I still have a little bit more homework do to before I can start my weekend, so I am going to do it now so I don't have to worry about it later.

Car Project

To keep yall informed about the car project that I am working on for my engineering class, we have finalized a car design and have been working on improving it some to maximize its efficiency.

So this is the final design for our car and we made a few changes to to help increase efficiency. The major change we made was changing the wheels from the all terrain type tires to the flat more street tires. We did this because the flat tires are more practical for the purpose we are using them for. The other change we made was to the spoiler and the front of the car. We took off the green Lego's and replaced them with parts that wouldn't fall off when the car landed. This also helped increase sufficiency of the car. Well thats all we have done so far, so when ill post when we have completed more of this project.

One Day Closer

Well I know its been a while since I posted, but that is because I have been extremely busy. First of all I have an English research paper that has been taking up the majority of my time lately. For this paper I am having to research a virtual community and write an analysis of the community. The community i chose to do is the Facebook Group, 40 Things College Admissions Forgot To Tell You About College. The rough draft of my paper is due tomorrow and then the final is due one week from tomorrow. So since I am still only a little over half way done, I need to get back to my paper.

Are We Done Yet?

This past Sunday was Easter, and it was nice to have a 3 day weekend. Now it means that this semester is almost over!! YAY!! But that doesn't mean it gets any easier. In fact it is getting harder in some classes. For my engineering class we started another project and that is to build a lego car that will go down a ramp and be able to fly through air for at least 100cm and has to go through at least 2 card board boxes that will be acting like billboards. This project is due at the end of April, and we just started on it on April 1. So we don't have that much time to actually work on it. And then for my calculus class I am learning probably the hardest stuff we will learn this semester right now and it will be on our 3rd exam. And then for my English class I am writing a research paper that is due next Friday, but I am glad that we are doing it now and not waiting to do it during the time of finals. Well thats all for now, I need to get to work on my research paper.

Ok so lately i have had dome free time on my hands since I haven't had any exams this week, so I was searching for some cool Mechanical Engineering blogs and came across this one. I thought it was pretty cool because it talks about mechanical engineering issues. I also happened to come across this one as well. Well I thought I would share these with yall, but I have to get off and get some sleep because I have an 8am in the morning.

Only One More Day!!

This has been a pretty good week so far. We only have 4 days of classes this week because of Good Friday, so that means NO CLASS FRIDAY!!! So the week started off pretty normal as usual Monday going to math recitation, then theater, then engineering, then finally with week-in-review that night. Then Tuesday I only had Calculus, then went out to Mt. Aggie for the club meeting from 7-9pm. Then today, I went to Matlab, Theater, and then Engineering. So in engineering today, I had the most fun I have ever had in that class since it started back in January. We started our Lego Car project. The Lego Car project is where we have to build a car out of lego's that will go down a ramp and land a minimum of 100cm away, without falling to pieces. So our team of 4 broke off into 2 teams to each build a car, so we could decide on the one that we liked best and that would work the best. So we did that and of course both groups built cars that would work and we can't decide on which one to choose. Because of course we each thank that our car is better. Well we are still undecided, and we have till Wednesday to decide so we will wait till then. But anyway that was the most exciting thing that we have done in engineering so far this semester.

Big Event

When in college and wanting to become an engineer, or anything for that matter, community service is always a really good thing to do. And that is exactly what I did today. Me and a few friends had signed up to do Big Event, and we were assigned the job of painting a lady's deck. So after the big kickoff, we started on our way to this lady's house. We finally find the road that her house is on, and start driving down it looking for her house. We were unable to find it, because the numbering on the houses were really weird, they started off with 4000 and then just skipped to 4040 with no other housed in between and we were supposes to be at 4020. So we were a bit confused for a bit, but then we decided to stop at the 4040 house and ask to see where the house we were supposed to be at was. Well to find out we had to go through this gate and the end of the road to get to the house we were supposed to be at. So we do that and we find the house. So we get up to the house and we find the paint and brushes we need out on the deck that we are supposed to be painting. So we get started with our job. We first had to take the scrapers and start scrapping the paint off the railings of the deck because all the paint was pealing off, and painting over it wouldn't be good. So whence we finally get all the paint scrapped and pealed off the railing we start painting the railing white, the same color that used to be. So when were were done with that, we took our lunch break, which consisted of bbq. It was AMAZING!! So after our lunch break we put our second coat of white paint on the the railing and then start paint the actual floor of the deck with the brown deck stain. Whence we finally finish with the first coat of brown deck stain we decided to take a break, so the floor could dry, and we went to Spoons to get some ice cream yogurt. When we finished that we went back out to the house, and by that time floor was dry enough to where we could start applying the second coat to the floor. So when we finished the second coat, we had to do some touch ups with the white paint on the railings and stuff where we got a little bit of brown on. So after all that we were finally finished with our Big Event project, and we came back to campus.
